Whether it’s a story that’s all about going green, or a feature, craft, DIY or garden piece, I try to add some solid eco-information wherever I can — and top that up with reader takeaway, including tips on good books and online resources. A lifelong amateur naturalist who has spent the last decade restoring native plantings to a 10-acre plot, I’m keenly aware that small changes can make a big difference. The unmown field, for example, now hosts nesting bobolinks each summer — a vulnerable bird species I hadn’t seen since I was a kid.space
